Making power and going fast is fun. But the tow back really sucks. You can drink beer though.
B-Max Procharged M3SC with a 468 7lbs boost and about 750 hp. no problems yet. We will be 850 to 900 this season i'm hoping for the same result.

Not me....I broke all the IMCO drives at less than 4000 rpms and I never ran WOT. It was a 25 hr season that year. After spending $6K to buy a new upper and $4K repair the 2nd drive I was afraid to leave the darn bay/river, the drives were brand new ($18K).... :hitfan:

It pushed me into buying the BMax's and and I put over 150 hours on them in two years, one year at 715hp the second year at 830+hp, all ocean running, boat is over 10K lbs dry.

Good to hear. I am going to be 850+ this year only 4200 lbs dry.

We rebuilt the lowers this winter. They were showing some wear and I had a problem with the coupler between the upper and the lower so they covered it under warranty..

Looks like every couple years the lowers need to be overhauled but parts for lowers are relatively cheap so I'm not concerned... Or just do like Rob Stringer and keep a spare... The cost of the drive is still cheaper than say a Konrad conversion even if you have 2-3 spare lowers. :party-smiley-004:

Plus, they're doing R&D on 1.50 ratio right now so that'll solve the gear ratio problems that some had with loss of speed...

Panther ,I don't know about IMCO only it sounds like a gamble that you lost 18k on . And I almost went for the b max
drives but now they sound like a bad gamble (for me ) . I hope the Marketing of the X power drive works out
and it becomes the useful unit we all looking for and need to enjoy our shiftable outdrive arrangements !

Give the Bravo's a try and see how it goes. I hear some success stories here and there but I tend to think these are river/lake boats. There's a guy in your area with a 34 Hustler Cheetah who kept grenading XR's with his 700 hp engines.

Why do you think the BMax is a bad gamble? What have you heard, let us know.

If this is scaring you I would start considering #6's and only #6's. :cool-smiley-026:

Maybe I'll see you out on the water this year, you're not too far away.
