Thanks for the update on he DLC.. I will also look into the Tungsten process, as I am not familiar with it.. I agree on the quality conrol from Merc. PK, not sure what tips they are, as it's from the Advantage that had the IMCO drive I bought. Jeff1000, Yes, great learning thread, sharing of good scientific ideas is a good thing.. Who said I was hitched...? Borrowing one is much cheaper, as I can often upgrade for a new model at no cost rather than having to keep the old model...:D Another alternative is leasing, AKA Short term borrowing with minimum payments...:party-smiley-004: :evilb: R |

This has been a great read.
I understand how the cryo treatment helps with gears, but what about the coatings? are you looking for coatings for hardness or lubricity factors? What about a coating like this? http://www.dicronite.com/Specifications.htm Just curious, I have stuff coated all the time for altering surface hardness and lubricity. |
