Default Bravo to XR

If you change to an XR toi handle additional horsepower, do you need to change the gimble and transom assembly?

When I changed mine, I had to put spacers in the 2 rams to limit the up travel and make sure you have the RED dot gimble bearing.

Thats it.

You mean the spacers in the slotted hole on the outdrive where the cylinder connect? Moved them to the front of the hole?

This is a pic off Bams webside. To install the spacers you take the end caps off the rams and push them on and put the caps back on. I made my own tool to get the caps off.

If you price the mercruiser tool you better be sitting down.

So if you were swapping outdrives going from a bravo 1 to an XR could I also just swap trim cylinders. Keep the trim cylinders with their respective outdrives?
