Default Bravo 1 or 3?

Is there any guide lines to which unit to use on what type of boat?

I am planning on re powering as soon as my restoration is done.

The boat is a VDH Original Seacraft. 21 feet and total weight with engine is approx. 2800#.

I would think the boat with 300hp should run into the mid 50's.

Any guide lines would be appreciated.

With that hull I would think the B3 is the way to go. Have you thought about a Volvo DP? They kinda put the B3 to shame.
