Depends on the hull/weight/hp. Stepped or non-step? Notched transom etc.??? What is your application?

302Sport 09-27-2010 03:34 PM

non stepped, no notch.......

How much does the boat weigh?

302Sport 09-29-2010 07:12 AM

u r thinking of putting 6's on the 33? it already has 4's what real benefit are you going to see? You don't think it might be too stern heavy then?
Good luck with the project.

not putting 6's on, i want to see what a straight v bottom with side by side 6's runs for a drive height. 4's are surfacing drives and can go just as high as a 6.

are your 4,s on boxes? A #4 on stellings boxes come out to the same dimension as a #6 length and height. the stellings are a little longer than the merc boxes.

302Sport 10-05-2010 01:39 PM

yeah they are on merc boxes.........

Hard to say without a notched transom..........guessing 1.5 to 1.75 inches below hull. That is if the bow is light, go approx 1 inch deeper if you need bow lift.

With a notched transom on a 11,000+ # V hull, .125 inches below the hull works just fine for top end. Also, I think the No. 6 trims in much further than the No. 4 for planing, so no problems with high drive heights.
