kjm5125. Have you had any time to get the tranny fixed and the boat in the water?
and the main issue was how to get the boat on plane. Arneson surface drives are very different compared to my Bravo Xr's / Shorties. What you need to do is keep the tabs down and stay on the throttles until the boat starts to plane and then she blasts off. Every adjustment you make with the drives and tabs is highly accentuated when compared to the XR's. I definitely need some seat time to fully understand the handling characteristics. Next time out pictures and or video. |

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction. What is the rake on the props?

VIDEO!!! If I remember, you are trying 5 blade 17" Diameter 31 Pitch Props. Can't wait to see what RPM you are running at WOT......also speed.
At 4500 rpm's the ROOSTER was pretty amazing. I was not paying that much to speed, as I was concentrating on trim and tab setting. |
How would an Arenson work in a single drive v?

Thanks for all the updates. I am surprised there has been problems so far but am hoping they are all worth it! The other formula like yours seems to love the bravo to arneson conversion ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxjsIl3F3x8 ) Seems like it would have been easier for you since it has already been done on the exact same boat!
Looking forward to updates soon!!! |
