Eric,
I lost only 1-2 mph with the SCX lower. In my opinion, well worth it, considering the longevity the lower gives over an XR. Another plus, I was able to run the same prop as I had on my XR with no noticeable difference in ride characteristics. I would love to tear the lower apart to examine the gears but so far, no luck with finding the appropriate tools. Imco will only sell the tools as a complete SCX kit, which sells for some $3k. I cant justify me spending that much just yet. I did take the covers off my SCX upper, sent in my borescope and was able to snap these pictures. This upper has about 150 hrs on it. The gears look great so far. I am hopeful the lower looks just as good. I wish I could get my borescope into the lower for a look.

Hey Vinny, Looks great! Can you tell me what power you are running? And are you running any spacers? Looks like you are running a single on a 26' boat how heavy is it?
Reason I ask all the questions is I'm thinking about running the SCX /SCX with a 2" spacer to get to standard length. On my 29' Lavey with a single 500 EFI.
Thanks Greg

Mine have given off no metal at all! I'm not really worried about mine. I think there going to be fine.
Torco RTF for oil. Imco believes in this for the SCX. I buy 5 gallon pails from imco and use Mr. Gadgets pump set up to get it in.

BTW, in case any one is curious, I am using a Snap-On bore scope.

Great thread and I am glad to hear the SCX is doing well! The 3 SCX boats I have been in seem great also.
Sweet Pic SkiDoc, Jay is the best isnt he!
Wish this crowd understood how much better/and much needed a SCX is over a XR!
