Glad they can get you in and not ruin the rest of your season.
I take it you are a Lake Erie boater? Hopefully we will see you at the bay sometime soon :drink: |
I just saw your from Granville. I live up in Delaware. Small world. Do you go to alum at all. We were just at the bay for Xmas in July. Were u there?
|
We missed xmas in July, but we are up there on B-dock often. We spend a lot of time at Buckeye Lake when we are not up north. I've been to alum a few times but Buckeye is closer to us and most of our friends boat there.
Hope your trans issue works out as painless as possible. I'd offer to give you a hand and get you up and running; but my shop is all packed up for moving so I'm out of commission for a while. |
Model number on the velvet drive is 10-18-014. Guy at pier 53 said it should be like 71 or 72? Hope he can find a replacement.
|
10-18-014 is a 72c if my memory serves me correctly.

Assuming your talking about when it's on the trailer. It's not unusual for the prop to spin in nuetral with no load on it in boats with transmissions. However it shouldn't spin when in the water. What kind of drive setup is this? Sterndrive, V-drive, inboard. Never heard of torque flights being used before. Is it just one forward gear or does it actually shift?
Im running TRS's and they still spin in the water. I dont have a complete nuetral in the water. I still travel along at about 2.5 miles an hour. in drive I do 5-7. to stay still i have to work the shifters back and forth. I can understand when its on the trailer and no load, but in the water? They are just 1 gear. used for forward neutral and reverse. They seem to work great other than being heavy and still spin. No torque converter, jusst a flex flywheel with a spring pack bolted to it to absorb the impact on shifting. If I could post pictures I would. |
