Default -2 sportmaster lowers on B1's

Thinking about putting -2 sportmaster lowers on my b1 uppers. I am also doing billet top cap over the winter. What needs to be done/ changed to install the lowers?

Thanks in advance
Curt

nothing, and -2" shorties were the best thing i ever did to my mystique, picked up speed and handling

i would go with imco's tho, most claim there shape makes them a little faster

Ive heard the imco's were a little faster and sportmasters have better handling than imco. If I went with imco, is it still R&R or would I have to change/modify anything?

No mine is a 2002 and is not notched. I have alot of blowout planing witch i hate. I wonder if a sportmaster type would help the flow of water to the prop. I also have reg. bravo 1 s with the 496s. With that i dont think a 5 blade would be wise though i think it would help. Ill measeure mine this weekend to. I did before but forget. Sounds like boomer has the setup if these boats all have the same x demension so all this info can be used for all 30s. I wonder if not having the notch is causeing the blowout. I have not used the boat much as i have been spending more time on the bigger boat but i really like this 30. I wish they were all stepped. I think i am going to play with props till i get rid of my bigger boat.

my boat is notched, which i think helps with shorties. My nose cone now is still below my hull, my guess would be about an inch,

no, whether you bolt and sportsmaster or an imco on, its the same... I had sportmaster standard length on my boat first, and they didnt feel like the handled any different then the imco... tho i have heard the same thing about handling being better with a SM, i think its due to sportmasters skeg being longer

i have done a TON of testing with the mystique, and think i am finally close to the perfect set up, PM me if either of you guys want to talk and ill send you my number, Curt if you still have my number feel free to call

one REALLY easy 2mph i will tell you guys is to cut 1/2 of your diffuser ring off. I have -2" and still have no problem getting on plane, so with your standard length it will be no problem.. easiest and cheapest 2+mph you can get. it cost about 60$/prop

my mystique ran 90.7 last weekend. Some of it is due to the HP, as my motors have been bumped to about 600hp. but the other as just been testing... this was with stock 32p bravo 1 4 blades with 1/2 the diffuser cut off.. im hoping labbed will be give me a few more mph's

I remember when WHM owned your boat he did alot of prop tweaking and nice bling to it.. My bet would be the blow out if from working the props for maximum speed at bblades. Try a stock set of bravo 1 props and see if you get the same blow out, my bet is you dont.

Yes, (pretty much). you will need to change your gimbal bearing, its a 100$ part, very easy to remove and install, after that, a XR bolts right on no different then a B1
