*** In Name only... Howard has nothing to do with his custom drives anymore...... He handed the business on a silver platter to Rik about 10 years ago. ( From what I hear, Rik has not done Howard any favors in respect to the namesake since then )
And that pisses me off....

What typically do you need to buy parts wise/what have you seen fail over 4 years on the drives? What kinds of costs?

I bought my drives used and the boots that go over the ball on the thrust were ripped so I wanted to replace them. When the thrust tubes were apart ,I replaced seals ,castle nuts, bearings , boots, and (2) broken studs. I don't remember the cost I will have to find the receipts the only thing I thought was costly was the castle nuts that hold the thrust tube on . In the 4 years I have ran these drives nothing has broken with the drives something I could not say when I was running bravos .

I observed Rik's 125% effort at the old shop. ( I was totally confused about the rumors about Rik - It made no sense to me )
DO NOT BELIEVE the negative comments being spread around about Rik........ He is a master building the Arneson drives, and there are some fake news from others.
Thank you

Quinlan,
what lowers are you running? I have a TG with 750’s running SCX’s with SC lowers. Had to replace lower gear set after half a season. I was told prop free spinning was the issue. Basically, getting a little air and reentry into water. I’m very aware of it, so was surprised with they failed. I run in the Gulf of Mexico, so there’s always odd rollers that sneak up on ya.
