I have reached out to Rik for the Arneson project I am involved with. He has been extremely helpful with technical information and parts.

Do your steering rams touch , they almost look like from the picture like they are to long .
Good catch though...it's those little things that can save a world of hurt. Are these steering cylinders setup correct for the thrust of the prop? I heard heard that the thrust side of the drive needs to have the cylinder pushing against it, so the cylinder piston has full surface and pressure, vs the reduced force from the cyl rod in the way. I think these are correct with the props turning in...the port drive gets thrust inward...and the cylinder piston is one the correct side. |

I was thinking of getting one on a dyno, but if it's not anything to write home about...then prob not worth it. I was at least hoping for forged cranks and some reasonable heads. Opens up options to other lighter options. But I'll rune these first. Thanks Thanks good Int. |

Looks like the TRS Merc 400 bellhousing was kept, and another trans bolted on.

Turns out trannys are Doug Nash Marine.
DNE2 is their Logo. Hydrosmooth is their Marine trans nomenclature. This one is Serial 0006. I don't think many were made. Huber had some parts for these, if anyone is looking back into the OSO archives in the future. Art |
Nice project?
I am looking for propellers for my arnies...19-spline. What diameter and pitch if selling em? |
Cleaned her up. I may need to fabricate an Arneson ball socket nut wrench.https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f91af67cbe.jpg
