Sounds like it wasnt cleaned correctly-or routinely tightened.
You need to clean these like helmets shields- very carefully with the correct cleaners.
Half of these things new have the optical clarity of a funhouse- aero marines seems to be pretty good.
I dont see how thats eliminators problem. Much like buying a car with a cracked or bad windshield.
Bummer though.

Just as an outsider looking in, wasnt there some talk on here a couple years ago about Eliminators having terrilbe canopies on them for a short span of time? Maybe this boat was from that period. Id say do a search on here.

Hate to add to this post but its about time someone stepped up.Eliminator Has the worst canopies in the biz... PERIOD. We have personaly meet with Bob over it. Wrote letters. They are dangerous and someone could get killed. Sit in any other boat and they are clear. We are at our 5th eliminator this last one the exact qoute was do you want to spend the extra 7000 for the clear ones? UMM there shouldnt be a choice when you are running boats this fast. I also believe thats why they are going to the winshields again ( speedsters). Also would like to add that the canopies came loose after the first weekend and they told us to tighten them cracked the winshield with the bolt still not tight NO WARRANTY. Bob will hopefuly realize that there are guys out there that will buy about every 2-3 years but not after all this. Quality control has gone down.
Sorry for being so harsh but it gets old when you pay that much for a boat it should be perfect.

I have not paid much attention to mime since I look over them almost all of the time. This last weekend I spent some time looking thru them and was not as good as windshield of my truck but was good enough to see everything in front of me.

So who makes the original canopies for Eliminator in the first place? Perhaps they may back up the product.
All acrylics are suceptible to chemicals, specially ammonia (Windex) and can be trashed real quick. If there are cracks around the installation holes it's either that the bolts were overtightened or the canopy wasn't annealed to take out the stresses. The fuzzyness is usually crazing. In most cases it's a chemical attack through not knowing how to care for them so it's not the manufacturer's problem.
Although it's possible to take out crazing, in F-16 canopies it's really hard because they have complex curves. It's not really worth the trouble. Buy a new set and take care of them.
We make the canopies for Motion and Donzi but we use 5/8" thickness. I'm sure that Aero Marine will be able to help you on this.
