My lovely lady and I have a 1999 382 w/Ext. boxes and about 500hp+ at each prop through 1.5 Bravo performance drives
. I am currently running (before winter) Labbed 28p B1s and I'm pushing the limiters (5500) at 76mph. If you have 5blade experience or any other input please reply.
I posted a similar request in the prop section a few months ago, but it's winter and I'm bored and want more input.
Thx, Tom

I thought this was unbelievable for the weight. Only problem now is I need more pitch since we were just hitting the rev limiter. BTW the optimum trim was right about 7.

Where are you getting those 5500 at 76mph, maybe your tachs are off. I run 5000 at 76mph same boat with 525sc and 28p labbed.

I have extension boxes, 1.5 drives, and unlabbed Bravo 28's on my 382 and run 84 mph @ 5400.
You have some major slip issues with your props.

Red Dog, My 382 came with Labbed 31 Bravos, 525's + Stellings and ran 80 (gps), threw the mufflers it came with, at 5200. It is difficult to understand how your similar combination ran 84 with non-labbed 28's. Maybe you are not trimmed out to where I find the best speed, at 7.

I think a lot depends on the labbing recipie and who labbed the props. I am running 645 H.P.(600+ ft/lb torque) Sterlings well below the power peak. I only trim to 4 or 5 and begin to scrub speed beyond that. I also have nosecones and turn props in, which probably accounts for some difference too.
