If you're thinking late-model 292, you might look for one with 377s (6.2L), worth another 20 HP per side for only a little more scratch. I've seen 71 mph GPS on my 2003 with the 6.2s and 28p Merc props.

292 is a nice boat, I traded one to Magicfloat about a year and a half ago, and come time to get another performance boat, thats what I'll go back to, but right now I'm lovin the generator/a-c & tv in my 27pc,,but damned if I don't miss the performance,,,Magicfloat will see me again.
