Is that the one where you have a sharder valve that you attach a hand pump too and fill it with air? Mine has this set up, but looking at all the lines and the routing I question the ability to get all of the water out so I opt for the antifreeze treatment. Although if I were to trust it I could save about 80 bucks.
Nope, don't even know WTF a "sharder valve" is. The 525s are closed cooling and external water is only in the seawater pump, coolers and exhaust. All you need to do is drain the majority of the water out of all of the above, put a 5 gallon pail with about 3 gallons of anti-freeze on the platform with a hose and muffs to the drive, start engine and run it thru. The anti-freeze pushes any remaining water out and fills the entire system in a couple minutes, some don't even drain first but it saves on anti-freeze if you do. If you use the pink stuff you can just launch in the spring and be on your way, with the real stuff you should drain first but you can catch it and use it again the following year. Simple deal.

A shrader valve is
remove all of the plugs incase you don't know what a plug is its those little blue things
Sounds like you can get away with out the anti-freeze -

Ok, but I thought they only used that system on the 4 bangers, never noticed it on the 496s.
I said drain the majority of the water out, via the little blue plugs was assumed to be the way.

And......................then you start the engine and run the anti-freeze thru, via the bucket and muff deal on the drive. Would never just trust draining the system and calling that good. Before the closed cooling I would drain the blocks then pull the T-stat housing and fill the blocks with the good green stuff, then flush it thru all the coolers and exhaust as well. Anti-freeze is cheap, parts ain't.
When you get a chance PM me your address, I have some assorted Velocity chit, no offense, that I'll send you.

Maybe old Twins fell into a crack and can't get out ?

Likely overwhelmed by the world of ever changing high finance. Seems all the "Financial Guys" are bummed out lately. A little infusion of cash would cure all that ails them, no doubt. Went up to HBW last weekend to grab the refer and dock box and went in to the showroom to BS, asked about the marine finance rates,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 8.99% with a real 20% down was the best deal, up a point from two weeks before. I do believe the days of easy credit for toys have come and gone. Go figure! But then you and I have had that conversation before.

Thanks in advance. I guess I'll owe you a cocktail or two or three next time we're out your way. Earlier you mentioned going for a run at the end of Nov. Cheryl and I have been discussing coming out there for Thanksgiving (don't tell Mom or my Sister - we haven't talked to them about it yet) If you don't think the extra weight will keep you from getting that extra 1 , 3 or 4 mph we'll tag along that way you can have third paqrty confirmation on the speeds :-)

I'm still here ..... just lying a little low getting ready for the snowmobile season ..... just put "got twins ?" in storage for the winter.
With regards to Ragged's comment ..... my dealings in the financial business is a little different ...... our customers our feeling the crunch no different then anyone else but with the "Saved by Zero" program offered by Toyota it has certainly helped ......
We are fortunate to have a very diverse line of vehicles to offer .... like Toyota ..... they are still strong as ever with regards to current sales.

The sleeping bear is out of hibernation!
How are things Twins? You may have been somewhat "Saved by Zero", but stats say Toyota is in the chitter same as the rest, somewhere around 30% off, so they say. Little different than the old days when they could add the "Additional Dealer Profit" tag under the MSRP and get it.
