PS: Sunny and 88* in Cancun...Off tomorrow morning for the US. Got to rig the bird!

Been there, done that. Needed that saturday data.

In for the afternoon, then back to the shop. Needs more wax! Going to be a trailer boater till Memorial WE. Trailer may be fugly, but loads like a dream. I like this bring it home and tuck it away deal, stays soooo clean. Went out sunday after my nieces first communion party and gave her a bath and chamois job, needed to remove the bugs that we impaled with the Beak.

Whatever happened to your race boat in Havasu? Looked like it was entered in several classes, but didn't finish any laps in any of them? Did the pit monkeys get lost and end up in the wrong state?

just to fill you guys in on Havasu.X-Site didnt have time to fix the gas leak.So we decided to leave early and fix it out there. The first day we found our first leak. The squirrel that we bought the boat from had drilled a hole in the top of the tank when mounting the seat.We repaired it fiberglassed it back and put it back together.only to find it leaking the next morning from somewhere else.Back at it we went, found the leak and repaired another.Later that day it was still leaking from yet another spot. Finally we decided to pull the tank out and put in a bladder.Busted our azzes till saturday night and finally gave up.But the trip wasnt a total loss,I got to race with Randy Schluess of Typhoon racing on saturday,We took a 4th but the 1st place boat was 500lbs under weight so call it what you want.On friday I pulled the guys off the boat to go take a couple of bat boats on the poker run for a couple of hours.Helped keep there spirits up.210 boats entered, wow I never seen nothing like it.More bling than you could ever imagine.lots of silicone too! 98 degrees each day and not even sweating.Dont worry guys we will get this boat performing before too long.Cause ya know! Dave's gotta guy!!!!!

Man that sucks. Frickin knob drilling holes through the tank!! Too bad you hauled it all the way out there just to wrench on it. Glad you were able to make some fun out of the trip though. How did the haul go, everything run ok?

Well that kinda sucks. You really can't trust a DIYer with power tools. You do deserve credit for grit and perseverance.

Looking good Bird, got a few of them myself. Saturday putting her back on the trailer, and getting her all secured for the trip home. Earliest River launch, and maiden voyage, April 26th, 2008.

I'm thinking the new 525 EFIs are pretty good on fuel. Topped the tanks off in Morristown ran to the Bay and back and the gauges didn't move off full yet. Took 25-26 gals per side to top off from about the 3/4 mark to start with. The trip by water is about 30 miles each way, or 60 total, if I got 2 mpg I should have used 30 gals total. I would think I would see that on the gauge. I would have see a drop off full with the 500s in the last boat. Granted we mostly cruised around 3500 @ 55 mph, but did a couple blasts @ WOT for a few miles each. So far I'm pleased with what I'm seeing.

Well another day on the St. Lawrence River. Looked like the rain was going to hold off and the sun came out so we hitched her up and headed for the river. Waddington, N.Y. today, my old stomping grounds.

And my baby likes it rough!!! We had 2-3 footers today vs last saturdays 6-8 inch chop. Put another 2 mph on the GPS recall this afternoon. The chitt eatin' grin is getting bigger. And I've got two sets of test props comming this week from BBlades.
