Jeff

Hadn't thought of it that way, Bird was first in the Pond, I was first in the River. I like the way you think!

I didn't notice if the freighters twitched, but we didn't. Met the freighters head on, didn't get to pass anyone all afternoon . Not a single Formula on the River.

Thanks, now quit playing with your little white balls and get that boat in the water. I'll even come help you launch, Axa needs to be the last one in this year, don't let me down. I stepped up my program by 2 months, do your part here.

I did notice the results seemed to be non-existant. Entered in a few classes, but no laps recorded at all, what is the deal here? Thing just spent time at Mercs X Site being all pimped up for this race, anyone talk to Doug? And that would be "You Go Girl", she does have her chit together.

correct.

Much too nice a boat to be running over trees, timbers, and all the other chit that's reported to be making it's way downriver.

wholly appropriate location and content for my 4000th post.

Apparently much better than yours. WTF is this deal all about? I assume some bone head tried to lift the boat by the rings on the silent thunder box, so why isn't He paying to fix it? Aren't there a set of lifting rings thru the transom just under the box?

Well if you are sharp and in a nimble craft you can easily dodge all the chit. Honestly it was fine from Morristown up to about Iornside, then the chit started showing up. Not really all that bad now, Rich has been out a lot and he was saying thursday it was real bad a week or so ago. We basically cruised and puttered, didn't see anything real big. When you see pine branches that are still green you have to wonder who the butthole was that tossed that in the creek. Water is about the highest I've seen it this time of year in quite a few years, and folks are biotchin' about this, some of the same ones that were biotchin' last fall about the low water, makes you wonder.

Sorry for your problems. Unfortunately, the rot in platform is fairly common. I had to rebuild mine the first year I bought it. It was leaking exhaust all around. Took it off to replace the gaskets and seals and found a mess. So, my winter project was the rebuild. Came out very nice, and better than stock. More reinforcement by way of more wood, laminated nicely, and reglassed. Reinforced the U-bolts too with large stainless backers fitted to the molded shape of the recess for the bolts. But, I would still never allow the boat to picked by those bolts.

Hope your glass guy is doing a good job, you only want to go there once. I think if done right, it'll last as long as the boat.

Pete - the upper u-bolts are the ones that you could lift with. The lower u-bolts are too far under the platform to lift by.
