Anyone ever had an engine alarm come on immediately at [cold] start-up, for no apparent reason? Oil pressure and everything else seems to be OK.
If I let engine warm up for a few minutes, then shut it off and immediately re-start...there's no alarm. Same thing if I stop at a dockside restaurant, eat and re-start...no alarm. Boat is '87 F242LS 454/330 with Alpha.
Could a voltage/alternator problem be causing this? It is possible my batteries may not be charging properly, as I did have a problem with this two weeks ago.

Reddog, we don`t have reserviors on the alpha.
Black, I have had mine for six years, and last year I changed the thermostate and new impelliour(sp). Now this year after a short run the temp will climb from 160 to over 210 when I come down to an idle. If I shift it into forward with a little gas it will come down. I am headed to the boat thurs. afternoon to put in a new temp sensor.
