Default Fastech 271 blowing out prop...New drive??

I am looking at upgrading my drive on my Fastech 271. Is there any way to keep the boat from blowing the prop out?.. Do these boats need a shortie drive, drive extention, extention box???? There must be a way to help or stop this problem???? Any ideas??? Thanks, Jeff

This is the first time I've heard of this problem. What type of prop are you running?

Search previous posts..All the 271 do this. I have run Bravo 24-26-28's and even a 5 blade Maximus 24. Jeff

Default Blowing out !

Where are you starting out with your drive half way, or down & in, then come up with the drive, what about your tabs where are they set & what kind , you dont say what ratio the drive is or the power your running, alot of things are dependent on what you have , tell the hole story then we might be able to help!

2000 271...Starting out - Drive all the way down and tabs all the way down....Engine is 502 MPI with minor mods. 450HP...Drive ratio is 1.65. .. Thanks, Jeff.

This may not be a factor since you probralby have Bennett tabs, but with K-planes,if you drop them all the way down it can cause turbulance and venilate the prop.Just a thought.
