Add full hydraulic steering to my list of upgrades. Any 292 owner with out the hydraulic steering owes it to himself to add it. What a totally different boat. I fought the urge for one year but finally bit the bullet. 100% satisfied.

That TV installation looks vaguely familiar... It's amazing how much storage space that you gain behind the TV, isn't it? Nice job. |
Looseconnection,
Did you do the install yourself? I seem to remember a thread saying you did. Dave |

This is the Volvo-powered boat, correct?

I purchased the boat in January & am making progress on some repairs & upgrades. I did use your TV mounting idea however your install is a lot nicer than mine. I like the mounting plate you made or had made for your TV & would have prefered the same TV but couldn't find it anywhere. I have a few more projects in the works, will post pics as they move along. |
Slip sheets are a must for this job!

Couldn't be happier with my new carbon fiber dash panels, gave the dash a brand new look!!
A big thanks to Steve Dunning at Innotech Products for help with the design layout and manufacturing of the dash panels. Have a few more areas to clean up but couldn't resist posting a pic of the completed dash. |
Paaka Looks great.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/f...ates-done.html Reading up on the latest and it now looks like it is an option for a Fastech and you can order a set directly from a dealer. |
Bump? No one else tinkering?

Well...
This year's major change was sanding off all the imron from the hull, external white-out so to speak. I also replaced the standard speakers with Focal Access series 6x9":s + Soundstream amp, got a new polished stainless Bruce anchor for the windlass, polished the glove box lid to a mirror shine and did some other more or less minor improvements. The white-out will probably be completed after this season, I've been looking at white Ultraleather Brisa Outdoor to replace all vinyl in the cocpit. A friend of mine had a complete jet black Alcantara upholstery made for his Scarab, including the dash, and it looks gorgeous. A similar (grey) dash upholstery job is in the plans, as well as replacing the dull grey instrument and switch panels with acrylic coated high-gloss walnut veneer. Engine is still very fresh (88 hours!), so I'm undecided whether to replace it with a 525 or 600, or just have the intake manifold ported, replace the cam and remap the ECU. Halfway there, so no pics yet. These projects tend to take a while and it's summer so I much rather drive the boat now and work on it during the winter. |
Does "Just getting the damn thing running" count as an upgrade?
