the way the broker explained water coming in it sounded like the bellows was the culprit. It is a shame to bottom paint it, but if its your boat I guess you can do as you see fit!!

ya it has, I think on resale the 5.0's really hurt you and I will have to resale the next boat at some point.
There is also this one, its a saltwater boat and you can see it on the pulleys, but dosen't look bad from pictures.

all of these early 2000' 292's with 200 hours look great on paper, but how do they run. i would be concerned with lack of use. they are going on 10 years old. on average, thats 20 hours a year which is not a lot. something tells me they were used for a few years (30-40 hours each summer) and sat a while. a boat with normal use should have at least 300 hours if not more at that age. why such low hours: is it because the owner didnt have time to run it, or when they ran it; it didnt run long, or was it always broken? none of the answers are good ones. what makes it even worse is that some of these are in regions that dont have winters (FL and TX).
one listing said alternators and water pumps were replaced...they probably went bad from sitting and lack of use. who knows what other gremlins exist. those things dont usually go bad within 200 hours.
ill give you an example. my friend went to check out a 2005 jet ski with 35 hours. looks great on paper. friend said the thing ran like sh*t. just my 0.02.

I did not even know you could order them with 5.0 The one in Florida looks pretty nice, not bad for the price.
So if the boat in question did not have "issues" would it have sold to the thread starter for that price. A lot of asking prices are in the 60s but I think selling price for clean 04 to 06 with 6.2s and a trailer is low 40s. What does everyone think?
