I tend to agree. Obviously we are a bit biased as we own them but I think a fair price on a 2004 to 2006 292 is probably upper 40's to mid 50's. Some clean 2006's could prob demand upper 50's to lower 60's. The 292's are very desirable which keeps them from depreciating. Great starter boat, dependable, overnighter, relatively inexpensive to own/buy/maintain. Sometimes these factors keep a boats value rather than diminish. High dollar boats tend to depreciate quicker for this reason. Less potential buyers, etc.

I think a great/excellent buy on a 292 would be low 40's given its in good running condition and cosmetically ok. You are getting a lot of hardware (2 motors / 2 drives) for the money.

As Tim said (Expensive Date) those small blocks will run for ever.......so the 300+ hours isn't a big deal. IMO.

Ahh, or maybe they last 354 hours.......know more tomorrow.

$40k boat
If your boat was truly used weekly for less than an hour at a time, that certainly is not the norm. People who go out weekly tend to run the boats. Thats why we have them, right? In any event This will be a great buy for someone. Everyone including me look for things that were run routinely for short amounts of time. Like I said they are hard to come by.

I dunno it all depends. I know guys that use their boats one week a year for a trip to the sanbar and one fill up. I also know people that use their boat every day in the summer but it is to go for an cruise then idle/drive to wave at all the neighbors on the shoreline. We have a VERY short season. most boats in my neighborhood go in the water in June and are ready for winterization labor day weekend (litterally you will see the boats piled up in the lot waiting for winterization). Also they will most like only get used on weekends and that is if it is nice weather. Also a lot of of the older crowd even though retired will not run their boats until kids or grandkids come up. All depends on where you boat.

I am not sure I think it is right in line. People will pay for the clean 271's because of the fact that the single vs twins makes them REALLY nervous and the perception is they are looking at more gas, maintenance, props, drives, engines etc. So when they rationalize it they are only giving up 2ft and a lot of headaches. Remember 242's (and the 311 but for the sake of this discussion) are STILL highly sought after and people will pay for the clean ones sometimes as much as 311. People who are still looking for a single engine formula without going the 240/260 route don't have much choice except to go with the 271. But also people looking for more of a starter performance boat from Formula aren't going to think about anything with twins usually. Now Pond your's is a highly factory optioned (and custom optioned) 292 that I would expect to demand more money but if you are comparin a clean 271's price to an okay conditioned 292 I would expect them to be the same $ just my opinion
