Hey guys! Sorry I couldn't make it. A bad fuel injector ring was causing fuel to gush out of the top of the engine. I made it about 100 feet out of my slip before the fume sensor did its job and scared the crap outta me! (Definitely a
moment) I managed to get my mechanic to come to the marina on a Sunday, but it required too much work to complete that day. Also, since there was a decent puddle of fuel in the bilge, we had to walk the boat along the dock to the travel lift and yank her out of the water. On the upside, I was able to "On & Off" the bottom... Boy that stuff stings when it splashes on skin. Yikes! It took basically a full week, but she was finally splashed again yesterday evening. (Insert missing knocking-on-wood smiley here) Seems to be running great!
I will certainly keep on the lookout for any future NJ plans! I definitely want to get to know the other Formula owners around here!
Also, a huge "Thank You" to Panic Attack Bill for checking in with me throughout the day and letting me know when plans had changed!
Cheers!

We got plenty of room for you! Keep an eye for the Atlantic City Run as well. That's always a really fun trip.
The prep and planning can all be controlled. Unfortunately we can't control the weather, but all in all it turned out to be a pretty nice weekend. Dinner went off flawlessly. Hats off to Tom(IDCE) and fam. Got to meet some new faces, and introduce them to our little crew. Breakfast was good, for those who weren't still recovering from the nite before. Damn Panic Attack and his Southern Comfort, ughhh...."lets do it old school right from the bottle"... yeah, genius idea. The raft up was good too, Tom's River was the best option because of the weather as it's well protected. The past 3 years the weather for the Rendezvous's had been perfect and cooperated nicely. Can't always be perfect, but we adapted. Rough seas aren't a worry to a Formula owner.
A 525 in a 271 has to absolutely move some water...HS!!!! I know they made a few of them with that package. Back when I was looking for a boat, I contacted a Formula dealer up in Freeport, NY that had a brand new left over 271 with a 525 listed. It was gone by the time they got back to me. Thing has to be a beast out there.

I tow my 292, with a 1/2 ton, and it's pretty easy too. New GMC's are beasts. Anything bigger though, not only would I need a bigger truck, think it could be somewhat of a hassle to launch and retrieve every time. Got it down to a science now. Takes me longer to go get the truck then it does to put the boat on the trailer.

Shame to see Seaside go like it did last night but it will be bigger and better after rebuilt.
