Dis you ever get and try the Rev 4 prop and how did it perform? Did it tend to make the bow porpoise or help plant it at speed?
Sorry to hear about your luck with the motor. I know you will get it back together with even more power.

No sir, I didn't. He was going to bring it over on a trip to Pensacola and forgot it. But I'm still looking for one. Idk if I'll do any upgrades to the engine while it's out other than reseal it and put new exhaust on.

You got a beautiful 242. Love the colors. I'm tired of hearing about people losing engines. I'm sitting out this season myself because I blew one at the end of last year. I was the 3rd in our small group to lose an engine last year, and we just had the 4th member go down last weekend. All were all about 17-18 years old too. I'm not just replacing the one, otherwise I'd be boating already. No, I'm biting the bullet and replacing both, hence the 2018 hiatus. Good Luck.

Thanks for the compliment. I stuck with 242 just for single engine. I'd like twins and may later move to one with them. But dont want the headache.

this one has 21 hours. I may put some relief valves on it to dump the water and prevent whatever caused this.

Well friends, she is out. Will have it on a stand this evening and start dismantling.

I have no clue how you would do twin small blocks. About need a shoe horn to get this in and out.

Brand new 20 year old spare finally getting used for something.

How do you like the imco thumper manifolds? I'm split between stainless marine and IMCO. I like that they look like stock merc manifolds and risers, but the aluminum and salt water is making me skeptical. I do plan on doing a full closed cooling system on both engines when I rebuild them so that lessens my worry a bit.

I have really liked them. I am putting a set on an engine I'm installing in a zx25 donzi for a friend. They are very light. I have so much overlap on my cam shaft I'm worried about reversion. That is the only reason I'm not going to run them any longer. I haven't had an issue with it, but have an opportunity to go dry so I am. If you think youd like this set PM me I'm going to be getting rid of them.

I never enjoyed pulling the motor out of my 242... did it many times!

Hunter, what are you taking apart? I’d put it on the stand, snatch the manifolds off to look for signs of water, and maybe the intake. Were you going to tear it down completely?

Now’s the time to get rid of that rubber fuel line! 😉
