Okay so I had the boat all last summer and love it, mostly.
I knee there were some demons with this one when I bought it so it's all kind of expected though. None of the lights in the cabin worked last year. The wiring needs gone through thoroughly from front to back. So I'll be doing that when the weather breaks.
the 2001 mpi motor I'm not sold on. It's low hours at 247 after last season but it's a slug. First it wouldn't run over 3500 when I got it. After checking it out and finding a knock sensor that had a bad output on the end, the fuel pressure regulator not working we got it running better. However of I go from 3/4 throttle up there is no difference. This makes getting on plane with a full tank and 3 adults in the back seat take forever. I know the usual tabs down drive tucked still just plows for a long time. The mechanic is going to look at it early this year and try to figure it out. If he can't figure it out this year then next year will be back to a carb and thunderbolt that I can work on.
Finally, the other issue is the cabin. Luckily the cabin light didn't work because it is useless in my boat last year. The front bed visions were junk when I got it. And I mean junk as in the covers were deteriorating and the cushions never made it in the boat. But the side seats were still there, just always wet. My hatches leak and so does the windshield. So all season I pumped it out after every rain because there is no connecting tube between the cabin and the bilge. That's not a bad thing though it just needs a pump of its own. So this spring I will be fixing all the leaks and wiring in the cabin. I have all the fabric for the new bed cusions, side seats and the wrap around sides of the side seats. It will be close to original with a few changes in design to hopefully make it look a little newer. I'll post some pictures of it when I get to working on it.

You can have clogged injectors, I had a few in my old 350's. Send them out to get cleaned - about $15 each for cleaning and test.
I also found that someone pricked into the wiring, causing a wire to corrode internally.
You can easily test if the injectors are firing - you can borrow a the injector test lights at Auto Zone - or most any auto parts store
MPI's are easy to get screwed up by injectors, that is how I ended up with my 280SS. The previous owner changed everything, ECU and all - turned out he never had the injectors cleaned. Boat ran perfect for me when I found those gremlins.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably send them out soon and just have it done. Then hopefully it fixes the issues. It looks like it will be nice this weekend so I'll be going over the wiring on the boat and cleaning up loose ends. Also pulling the drive to clean and paint it.

The drive is painted, I did use self etching primer. The wiring is mostly done but the weather in Pittsburgh hasn't been cooperating. Once I get to some good points for pictures I will upload them. My question now is about the windshield. Does anyone know where to get the center piece that separates the 2 pieces of glass in the center of the windshield. Mine has gotten hot and crinkled up and hardened.

Both hatches have been removed, glass removed and resealed, and then painted

Not a show quality job but looka way better then they did

My method of holding the glass down while the urethane cured
it's going slow due to family obligations and work. Hopefully I will have it ready for the water by next weekend
