Hurricane Sally took my boat and my support system (dock, boathouse, lift) so I don't have any convenient way to use her yet...but "Blew Bayou Too" has arrived!

I am still working on getting the dock/boathouse/lift replaced...but drag yours on down for some Gulf time and island hopping.

Okay...after 9 months I am cautiously returning to the water.

Tom,
What’s this F311 run for a top speed with your setup? |

I am just gathering data (crawl, walk, run) but yesterday with not very good conditions (crowds and people/boat traffic) with full fuel and four people she did 78.6 mph/gps at 5,100 rpms. I did not have the clean water to work on the trim and had to back down due to wakes/traffic.
|
That’s moving Tom. Less fuel and passengers will make her an 80 mph boat easy. Stick time will probably get you there by itself!
What are the engines again? |

That sounds pretty impressive. It sure looks great on the hoist. |
Two people (my Wife and I), 2/3 fuel...80.1 mph (gps). I was too busy looking out for smaller boats to see my rpms, trim position, etc...
But I set a pre-determined high-speed trim setting so I know it pretty close to optimal. I am VERY pleased!!! Thanks all for your help/support. |
Tom... WE NEED VIDEO!!!
I bet she sounds great! |

First "dinner cruise" in our new-to-us 1988 311 SR-1. The funny thing is that the rain squall you can see in the distance (beyond the little island) is directly over our original destination...so we visited an alternate Sunset Grill. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2e4ee4d0c4.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5bb03e555f.jpg |
That is a good looking hot rod Tom. Glad you are enjoying it.

We had The Wharf (Orange Beach, Al.) to ourselves today. :-)
Also saw 80.3 mph GPS at ~5,500 rpms (1/2 fuel 2 people) 17.4% slip :-( Gotta work on my driving/trimming! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...30973a6e58.jpg |
Has anyone ever put twin stock Merc 525s ina 311?
