I have talked to b blades about this setup. He said best bang for buck would be bravo 1 four blades. I love the look of 5 blades but no point of wasting money

Lord Have Mercy, I look forward to seeing these results. My 292SR1 was my favorite bird so far.

As ph1971 mentioned, I had a 1988 292SR1, BBC with Bravo Drives. No hull modifications, silent thunder removed.

If memory serves correctly she ran a best of 74.6 MPH turning box stock 26P Bravo 1 4 Blade Props to ~5100 RPM and she was a consistent low 70's boat fully loaded in the summer heat.

Mark IV 454 Mag bottom ends, Isky Cams, Roller Rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gaps, HP500 Carbs with 78/93 jetting, and Crossovers.

That entire boat was set up just right for what I was looking for, even gave TomZ a little surprise when we took her on the final run down in VA beach before the new owner took delivery.

I actually try to buy the 292 back from the new owner on a quarterly basis, even have a special fund set aside for the day he wants to sell.

Good luck with the build and share some pictures!

Distant Thunder had a very healthy 292 a couple years back and may have some info for you. This probably isn’t a light enough boat for 5 blades on bravo drives. I would guess 28-30p Bravo four blades are going to be close. Mid 80’s if you haven’t raised the drives? Should be fun with that power.

That healthy 292 is down in Jacksonville, FL soaking up the sun. :)

ph1971 is almost spot on with this recommendation but I am not sure how the notch and raised X will influence that selection. If the boat was a stock hull and X I would expect 28P would be about right to hit those RPMs.

My setup is 502’s gen 6 blocks with crane roller cams w 629 lift. Crane gold roller rockers. Liberty performance aluminum heads with the bowls porting with 9-1 compression victor jr intakes with 850’s. I have the dyno sheets but don’t know how to post them. I wanna raise the x dimension as high as possible but not sure how much if any

There’s a lot involved with raising the x dimension on that boat. If you’re not removing the platform, you’ll need custom tailpipes.

These older hulls respond well to Shorty lowers. Snag some -2 units and go from there.

Not to hijack the thread but here was my 1988 292 SR1. Unfortunately, I do not know which waterway she's on. I am eagerly awaiting the pictures from Bad Vert
