292 SR1 with 1250HP
Hey guys I’m building a 292 SR1 with 625HP a side and was wondering what kind of speed would I get out of it. Also the transom is notched as well. Should I run 4 or 5 blade props too? Thanks for all input

Going to need a lot more info to be able to answer those questions.
what year is the boat Have you measured prop shaft height? what drives? 625 hp at what rpm? Dyno with marine accessories and exhaust? |
Bravo 1 drives. The motors were dyno fully dressed. Peak HP was like 5500. Torque was 610 at 4200rpm
the boats a 1989 |
Distant Thunder had a very healthy 292 a couple years back and may have some info for you. This probably isn’t a light enough boat for 5 blades on bravo drives. I would guess 28-30p Bravo four blades are going to be close. Mid 80’s if you haven’t raised the drives? Should be fun with that power.

Who notched the transom? Never seen an sr1 with a transom notch. Was the drive height changed?
should run mid to high 70’s with that power if set up right |
I’m gonna run standard length drives see what kind of speed I can get out of it then same day out 2 inch shorties on it and see how much I pick up and decide if I should buy shorties or not
|
Also gonna try to raise the x dimension as far as possible. I will find out this week how high I can raise it
|
Gonna need some pics here!
|
I will get pics when it’s all back together hopefully within a month
|
My guess 3 blade 27 pitch 80-85?
