Exactly, I strap there as well down to the trailer. I did remove the upper ones that helped hold the ST platform on, I didn’t want those in my back when sitting on the platform and I didn’t have any other use for them.

Looks awesome man! Better than factory!! What straps do you use for the trailer? I'm having a hard time finding ones that go that short since it's only like 16"

I usea wide long strap that goes through the trailer frame and out on each end to the loops on the boat.

Hi there! We have a 1987 242 LS. Long story short, we are getting our sundeck/engine hatch back today but are unsure how to attach it to the boat. Does yours use a piano hinge or more traditional automobile type hinges? Thanks!

It uses neither.
There is a bracket on the left and right at the rear of the hatch bolted to the boat. The matching bracket mounts to the bottom of the hatch and is through-bolted using the upholstery wood to help support the hatch. The brackets are mated to each other via a 1-inch long 1/4-inch bolt and nylock nut (I might get out to mine this evening... I can get a pic).
If you don't have the brackets, then you probably haven't drilled the wood and added the through bolts. The bad news is that you'll need to open up the upholstery to do this. The through-bolts also need to be bolted to the wood before going through the fiberglass shell (there is room to run the bolts through and secure with large washers and nylock nuts). Not a hard job to do but will require some disassembly.
