I would agree with too much nose in the water. It took me few trips to get used to the handling on my PC compared to other cruisers but it was all in the drive and tab.

Take with a grain of salt because my PC Was smaller, but hull design and weight dist similar. I never ran my drives all the way down..always a bit up for best ride to get the nose out of the water and I ran my tabs all the way up almost 100% of the time. I’d only drop one or the other a touch to address weight, wind, or current.

My first sea trial in the boat I found out the boat was heavily affected by the tabs and got used to just not relying on them like I did in my previous boat

Default 34 Formula performance

Thanks for your input. One of the thing I experienced was this past summer. I drove straight out of the river into Lake Erie, got up on plane and started to turn to port heading east. Instead of the boat banking left it leaned to the right for a short time before leveling. Will be checking my gages against the tabs and outlines before spring launch this season.

100% tabs. Get the nose up.

Don’t think it’s been mentioned yet but a V-hull cruiser will lean into a beam sea. If the waves are hitting on one side of the bow, your boat will fall to that side. Correct it with tabs.

One other thing to note, if you’re new to tabs, some switches are wired to push port/starboard ‘bow down’ whereas some are wired to push port/starboard ‘tab down’ which is the total opposite. Double check which tab moves with which switch.

Good point- I drove a friends 45 Magnum and the switches were for the opposite side tab. Very confusing at first

And in most cases. lean into the wind as well. Seems counterintuitive on the face of things, but as you are likely steering into the wind to hold course, they lean that way
