hey mopower,
Kamma used two engine buildersa at the time. Originally they bought engines from Hardin Marine and packaged the engines with their drive and transmission packages. Hardin marine engines were all LS6 motors painted blue. The intake was an aluminum LS6 pice and it was painted blue. The headers were Hardin series 1000 with double walled, stainless tailpipes and the headers (manifolds) were painted.....Blue. On the side of each manifold was a rectangular plaque that usually was ball routed with the name "HARDIN" on them. However Hardin marine private labelled these engines and the said "KAMMA" on them. The plaques were aluminum billet pieces and they were anodized.........Blue! The only exception to the blue rule was the valve covers. They were cast aluminum Mickey Thompson pieces and they were not painted blue. Or any other color. Even the pumps for the drives , which are stock Mercruiser pieces, have "KAMMA" labels covering up the Mercruiser labels. As far as the engines after they were done with Hardin in 1985, I don't know jack ****. They didn't use many of these other motors (KAMMA was pretty well done) and this other builder had BIG reliability problems. And thats the story.
