my understanding is the engines came in two power configurations: 375Hp and 425Hp... do you know this to be true?

if I remember my discussion with mercruisermatt, the 425 engines actually output 460Hp. they were under rated.

Just screwing around there! Yes they did. I also looked at an F402 KAMMA on lake Mead that had the third configuration. Twin 330 HP's! I have never found any literature on these 330's though. They were Hardin LS6 engines but had regular cast iron exhaust manifolds and much milder cams. They were still thru hull exhaust though. (DUH! Al!) Also important to note that the KAMMA Hardin engines were rated as 375 and 425hp (and were likely underrated) but in 1986 when KAMMA changed engine suppliers to_______ (insert mystery name here) the horsepower ratings went up. They were advertised as 405 hp and 450 hp. These by the way were the engines that eventually helped the demise of KAMMA I believe. Word is that nearly every one of these mystery engines let loose. KAMMA got killed on the warranties, and manufacturers using KAMMA paks like Stuphen , Wellcraft, and Formula bailed on Betty Cook and KAMMA. So, KAMMA-Hardin =GOOD; KAMMA-mystery engine= BAD. I 'll have to do some research on this engine thing to let youz guyz know. I'm pretty sure I got that info on offshore only at one point a long time ago. Even Mr. Magloo had heard info on these motors being screwed up. BTW, I have some of this info from old Formula brochures and I have some old Formula price sheets that have the KAMMA info and options on them. Pretty cool stuff. Now leave me alone for a while. I have to get back to the wives and girlfriends thread! WHY DIDN"T YOU JERKS TELL ME ABOUT THAT ONE SOONER? Jeez!

I don't know if you guys are still interested but I have quite of bit of literature on the Kaama product line. I will have to dig it out. I worked for Kaama for a couple of years until the end. Let me know and I will share whatever I have.

I missed out on a beautiful 302 with kaamas and only 186 hours and probably missed a 357 nearby with built engines and does 67 with kaamas.

maybe his is still available. but either way i am on a kaama mission.

I have an 86 357 with KAAMAS. The engines are by Innovation marine. They still used the M/T valve covers which had a plate in the middle that stated "Kaama by Innovation Marine", this plate also had the hp rating in large numbers between Kaama and Innovation Marine. The drive pumps and tab pumps were the same but the drive pumps had Kaama stickers over the Keikhoffer(sp) name. They used New Tech(sp) Firepower ignition boxes which had Kaama stickers on them. Although I won't swear they are original, although I believe they are, the blocks are Bowtie. I have the original Kaama engine operation manual, it shows 3 engines available 1-350, 2-454 I don't remember the hp ratings. The transmissions are by Twin Disc.

I had the first 357 with Kaama's (425, I think).

I don't remember what they said on them, but I blew 3 of them in the first 2 months. All replaced under warranty, but only with LONG delays and personal intervention from Vic Porter (who took one out of an nearly finished boat on the production line in Miami).

Then one of the Borg-Warner transmissions let go, and couldn't be replaced until the NEXT SUMMER, because so many had blown that Borg ran out of parts!

Not my best boating summer, I'll tell you that.
