Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

Looks nice, I read in the other post that the tips are just double sided taped on cause you were anxious to see how it looked, but in the end do they have to be bolted or how are you going to secure them?

Formula Outlaw 11-29-2004 06:17 AM

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

There are three screw holds in the flange, so will predrill the transom and use stainless screws, also will seal the flange to the transom with a sealing compound, but NOT 5200.

As soon as my riser gaskets arrive, we'll put the hose on the risers and bolt the risers/spacers in place, then insert the tips through the transom into the end of the hose. Then secure everything. CAN'T WAIT.......

cuda 11-29-2004 06:20 AM

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

Russ, use 4200 for sealant.

Formula Outlaw 11-29-2004 06:22 AM

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

Actually that's what I had in mind, plus I've got a brand new tube of it I haven't opened yet.

When I bolt in the "D" rings, I'm going to use that as well rather than screw around with those rubber gaskets, unless there is some reason I'm not supposed to do that.

Been lurking from time to time and had to finnaly jump in. Saw the pic of the other 311 on Lake Powell. We are on the lake every other weekend or more all summer. Have not seen that boat but will be on the lookout. Here is mine. '90 311 Bravos. 450hp crate 502s. Dropped a valve in one Labor day. Back in the water this comming spring with roughly 600hp each. Cant wait.

I'm surprise Cooder hasn't commented on the bimini. That usually gets some kind of rise out of him.

Then again maybe he's got his new Harley blocked up in the garage and he's sitting on it.:D :D

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

I boat on Lake Havasu and Powell mostly and if I didnt have that bimini, the last twohairs on my head would have melted off long ago.

You know I thought about it, but I knew he'd go to the old "it's hot at Havasu" card! :drink:

Nice man, looks like a fun bike!

How long are you gonna keep it until you upgrade?

What happened to the bike that crashed?

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

Thanks, its an 85 FXRS, very first rear belt model, they were originally called a lo-glide, wheras the lo-rider was chain drive in 85. I did it all myself cept for the paint, it was a diff color until some crazy chic in Myrtle hit me in a parking lot during bike week, So i came back got some JJ fenders and reinvented it.. Its got 30K miles on it and can still pull the front wheel up in second and 3rd Ive topped it out at over 120 coudnt see any more. Now its just for puttin.

I had the Harley tin painted. I love the look of it, but I'm still half skeered of it. That's what I bought the Suzy for, to get more seat time under my belt.

Nice man, looks good painted!! Everything takes time, just gotta get used to it!

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

Nice ride Cuda, your smart to take your time and get used to it, I've had mine since new in 85 and I know every sound with it. with bikes its very easy to get caught up in the trance of puttin. Just make sure you look out for the other guy and like boating, the easiest way to control your surroundings is to back off a bit. Once your used to it, again like boating you'll know when to power out of a situation...bikes babes and boating...nuff said! Rob

Check one thing though, I cant see what your rear tire is, your front is a Metzler ME33, make sure the rear is of a similar style, other wise with rain and antifreeze it can get slicker than snot. make sure they are matched. Metzler is a great tire, the match for your front is a ME99A. From the pics the rear looks like an Avon viper.

1994 303, Twin 502's original with only 250 hours!!!

FOR SALE, TOO!

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!

WOWEEEEEEE!! Toolman, I damm sure wish I would have seen this before I just bought my '95 252BR a couple months back. I would have been all_over_this_one. I looked at a nice 303 down here, but it was a little pricey, and no trailer. However, I then found a 252 with 52 original hours, B3, fresh water only, under cover stored, alum. trailer, with not even as much as dust on it. In other words, it's ridicuosly clean, same colors as yours, just about. My '95 has less than 70 original hours on it now.

Just wish I had a little more. nice ride.

This Minx is one of 3 Donzi's I have, plus my 252BR Formula. All my boats are stored inside, and I just bought a 36' motorhome that needs to stay inside also, hence I need to make some room. I don't need 4 boats, hell I don't even need 3 boats... Minx is priced at $17,500, worth every penny. I have about 22-23k in it. Turn key, needs NOTHING. Great buy. My 303 / 2 boat swap still stands. 305.796.0222

That's the boat from Lake George that got 500HP's put in it, isn't it? Must be tricky getting it wound fully out!
