Thanks Chuck. It's an '89 F292 with '98 502s. They just had a complete overhaul at 400 hrs and there's full hydraulics and new Bravos and gauges in '04. I'm really happy! :evilb:

GRIZ We will need a WOT report ASAP. Think it will break 75mph? |
Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Seller says he's seen 78 on GPS. I'm going to take it pretty easy on her until the new overhaul has a chance to get broke-in. She has only 5 hours on her since a top-end renewal and a complete going-thru. I'm in no hurry, but it is something to look forward to!! :D
I will keep my eyes open for you. The only other one I found like this one was in Seattle, Washington. One hell of a pull home! There is a real nice '89 292 at LOTO. Original 454Mags with 300 hours on boat and motors. Very clean. Blue & white. Well cared for stock bird. They're asking 38,995.00 but I happen to know that 34k will walk with it. No trailer. Hawkeye Brokerage. That's the only other one I seriously considered. GRIZ |
Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Way to go Griz!
Bring her to Formula Friday at F & L's on 6/30. Free appetizers, and good times! |
Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Thanks Barry. I'm planning on trying to be there.
Hey Chuck or anyone else looking. The 311 that "245 Limited" referred to above is bidding out on eBay. Not sure what the reserve is but she looks to be one-hell-of-a-boat. In Cleveland. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-...49911681QQrdZ1 |

Wife is now lobbying me to get either a SS or PC. The last boat was "my boat" then next one is going to be "our boat." |

That is a nice looking rig, Griz. What is the extension tube on the power steering pump?
Mine is an older 311 but I love it. |
Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Thanks rat. Your 311's color scheme is one I haven't seen before. Very nice. Very nice indeed.
That extension is backroom engineering in place of a reservoir for the hydraulic steering. I plan to put on a legit reservoir and two matching trim bottles from Trick. Of course, I've got all kinds of plans! Hopefully I can slowly tackle most of them by next spring. Which leads me to a situation that I've never experienced; The oil dip stick tube on one motor is loose as a goose, flopping around very loose. Anyone ever dealt with this issue? Minor or big PIA? Maybe a broken spotweld? Anyone...? GRIZ |

Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Masi-
I like the tint but I guess I could go either way. I do think it gives the optical illusion of a lower profile windshield. I'll have to take a pic of the platform for you. It is an Extreme Marine platform with a three-rung flip down ladder in the center that retracts beneath the platform. That ladder is a blessing and a curse. It works great but everyone in the line wants to board on my boat due to the convenience! I've seen your posts here. You'd probably be interested in my upcoming offseason project. I'm going to pull the 454 mag and may rebuild and possibly supercharge. Another option is to replace it with a 525SC or 500HP. |
Re: Post pictures of your formula!!!
Hi to all here in Formula land. I just offically joined this sit and Forum, and let truth be told, I was a Checkmate guy at heart. I have changed my ways and have been lead over to the Formula side of THE FORCE buy my new to me boat and by a few recomendations from Formula owners on the other Forum websites.
I just won this one on eBay. My first Formula :drink: I understand some of you may have been watching this on eBay. I hope I didn't ruin someone here's day by outbidding them. What do you all think of this one especially the engine :D I hope to have it home soon, anyone comimg to the east coast from IL that might be willing to transport this for me? I can go and get it, but thought I'd see if any one is coming this way and wants some gas money and a little extra for your trouble ;-) http://img272.imageshack.us/img272/8813/6535wq.th.jpg http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/2052/7b34ks.th.jpg Thoughts & comments? :evilb: Herb Mooney :drink: 1988 Formula 242 SS Dillsburg, PA |
