Cuda, the engines and mechanical are the easy part,There is not a stitch of upholstery in the cockpit. It took me a couple of years to get enough pictures together so I could understand how the back seat and side rails went together. Bought a set of used bolsters but might not use them. Maybe this summer I'll get time to start on it again

ahhhh, does "Holiday Inn" bring back any memories????

However I will admit the rooster tail it throws is worth it, plus the speed.
Look what the Arnesons did for "Blown Formula". I hear it's running near 11j0/115 mph now.

Sweet 311, I like your color scheme. I would love to step my 420's up to blower motors. I only see about 65-67 right now. Not bad but mid 70's would be nice! Good luck in Florida. I wish I was there!! My bird sits in the garage waiting 8 more months till spring.

My last boat was an 81 302 454/400hp trs. That boat flat out halled azz. I've heard that the 302 hull design was faster that the newer 311 style? I wish I had a dig. camera then. Your 302 with 420's & kamma's must get up and go! What speeds do you see? My Formula saga started with a 1975 20' Thunderbird with a 302 ford. It was wrecked when in storage by collapsing snow on roof. Thats when the madness started!!

Cuda - I have TRS drives - handle the power fine. Estimate is around 550hp.
Perfectmix - you look like my twin
. I know how you feel having to wait till spring - that's why I moved! Adding blowers makes a huge difference to that 420 motor. The torque is incredible, as long as you don't keep the sticks down all day they don't beat the engines up really.

Even though I've moved to a newer 382, I still love the older Formulas. Always got lots of looks and compliments on my '89 311. No one could ever tell her age ... except for a few party scars, she always looked like she just rolled out of the showroom. Design and lines are truly classic that I think will be ageless.
Had her long enough to know every last nut, bolt, hose, wire, and connection on her. Simple systems that were easy to understand and fix. If she so much as coughed or hiccuped, I knew where to look to find/fix the problem.
Went through some nasty stuff together, but with a little TLC, she always came through. She was always very predictable and responded to the right touch in the right place.
I miss her more than any of my old girlfriends!

I haven't had it up that high yet. but Bill, who owned it before me got 78.6 on gps with the timing bumped up and it trimmed out past the red. I leave the timing back some, and haven't trimmed it that far at speed and saw 72.

Hello guys,
Decided to weigh in. Spoke with Perfectmix in the last few days to whine a little and after reading this thread I find it interesting that we all share the same mind set. My F-206 started my disease. At the 3 year mark I didn't feel the two foot itis. I kept it and through all my analness it looks nearly as good today as it did in January of 1987 when I picked it up at the dealer and dumped her in Lake Geneva (3rd week of January) for a blast. The 206 was repowered about 5 years ago and it runs flawlessly. Massaged ZZ4 makes it interesting!
Bought my F402 KAAMA almost four years ago and as Josh can tell you guys, it's getting on my nerves a little. Age old questions now...Do I want to keep screwing around with obsolete drives? Do I want to keep watching the value go down? What is going to break next? How much more money do I throw at this thing? Well I'm reminded that at least I'm not taking a beating in value like those brave souls who purchased a new Fastech 353 or 382 this year. Ask those guys about depreciation!!!! God bless em! Well today is the downer day that all of us Northern Formula guys have to deal with. END OF SEASON. The F206 went in the barn today, and I'm trying to figure out what to rip out of the F402 to keep me busy for winter projects. I thought I would share a couple of my family photos. I hope I can say that I stuck it out with the old 402 in a couple years but whichever way it goes I'll always have a Formula sitting at my dock in the summer.

Hey Al, Do you have a place on the swim platform of the 402 to fasten the 206 for a dingy? Nice looking display. The one good thing about having to store our boats for six months is that every spring it's like having a new boat again. We seem to forget about the heartaches from the previous year and start fresh. Here are a couple of Kaama shots.
