Most I've seen are 454s. There is one with 350s at the marina where I launch. I think you would be hard pressed to get 60 mph out of 350s , but a lot more room in the engine comp. to work on them. I don't believe they were offered with 365hp only 330s. 292s had 365 Mags optional.

What about installing internal shims(stops) on the Trim Cylinders? This would limit total travel right?

Well , the tilt limit also varies if the drives are straight(greatest tilt) or if they are turned slightly(the least tilt room available)
Here's some pics from another 272 hyd.steering install

The 454 mags were available on '91. they weren't available on '88 & '89's.The early dealer info from july '89 doesn't list the Mag as an option either in '90, only the 7.4 w/Bravo's & 350 mags w/Alpha's. I don't know if it was available later in the model year.

Hey Mopower or Opie 272!

Do you guys know what the length of the drive indicator cables are for the drives?
The morse 33c cables in the boat don't have the any numbers stamped on the red jacket. I figured one of you two have probably replaced them.

Thanks

Not off hand but I did replace mine 2 years ago. All I did was call Formulas tech line with my HIN # and they told me exactly what I needed. Talk about service after the sale...how about 17 years after

Mopower,
Thanks for the tip. I just got off the phone with tech support at Formula. The correct lengths are 21' and 22' for the drive indicators. and 18'/23' for the K-Planes.

The motors dynoed at 525 and 522hp. The XS Marine steering is installed, the new dash and Livorsi gauges are almost finished and the second motor will be fully rigged by Saturday. I also removed the k-planes and powdercoated them black. What a bioche to remove!

Last on the list is installing the new indicator cables then installing the Motors, drives and steering rams.

I hope to splash her week after next. By the way, are you running Bravo 1's , Hydromotives or another brand prop?
