I also tried (two weeks ago) a pair of borrowed labbed 24 Bravos . From 3000 to 5000 rpm it was a rocketship but my rpms were too high.I was hitting 6000 and not full throttle yet so I backed off. Looking for some 26s now. Have a pair of 30s to get rid of after I find 26s. At what rpms were your engines peak hp. That's where you want to prop them.

My peak HP was 529 at 5750 rpm. Peak torque was 505.6 at 4750rpm's So according to the dyno sheet, I need to be at 5250 - 5400. I consulted with Tyler Crockett today. According to him, my cams may have more seperation than he would have used. I used 114*, he would have leaned more towards 112*. This would have brought the peak HP down tighter to the peak torque. Oh well, Looks like they will be hangin on some engine stands this fall!
That sound familiar?

You need to try Hydromotive Q-4's on your 272. I really think you would like them. Nice bow and stern lift. you would probably need 27 or 28 pitch.

This last winter was the first time I winterized my new ones in three years. Past years they came out and spent the winter in the garage

Default New Taco Rub Rail

Pulled the factory black rub rail off and replaced it with Taco's 2 piece Rigid base and vinyl insert. Very time consuming but worth it. Here are some pic's.

Yeah, I watched the youtube video and it still isn't right. I guess there is nothing to be done besides removing the whole thing and bolting a new platform on.

I just bought a 272 sr1 with twin 454 mags (yes 454 mags, they were swapped out in favor of the 330's in a repower in 2007) and the prevous owner drilled out the baffles. It sounds terrible if you ask me.

I was hoping I could get away without an $1800 swim platform change....but so be it.

I removed the baffles entirely. Sounds much better.
