Anyone else tried these new Mercury Maximus props for step-hull designs. I bought a new pair of these vry expensive props and LOST 10mph!
Love to hear from anyone else that has experience with these props. Mercury Marine to too big to give a hoot about the individual boat owners and does not want to help in any way.

Welcome! We need some more info, model year ,power, boxes or not, what props to start with, speeds then, which Maximas, speed now, etc, etc. Generally, the Maximas work great on a 353,give us some more to work with,a wealth of Formula info here but we can't fly blind

Merc's customer service on props is crap! "ok, Mr. Customer, you buy $2k in props, and if we didn't guess right, well...do you have an Ebay account?"
I would never buy big money props from them just for that reason. At least Throttle Up and Hydromotive allow you to pretty much endlessly switch props until you find the right one. Merc is "above" doing that.

Maximus Props are perfect for 496-502 when set up right, single engine 30's should close on triple digits with 1.5 XR on 5000 lbs. boat, herring and cleavers aren't worth the money, they have to be sharpened right before use.
