The Throttle cables go on the furthest back hole on my '97. I would do as Birdog said. He knows his Fountains!

I've noticed that my boat planes better with the drive at 3 or 4 than it does with the drive all the way in. The prop starts to ventilate a little, the revs come up, the power comes on, and bam, it's on plane. If i trim it all the way in it just lugs along at 2500 rpm until it drags itself on plane.

Do you have MPI/or 496 Motors If so they may be in Protection/limp mode?? You would need a rinda tool to Diag..if so clear the fault code and your Off
