Default Inner tie bar?

While getting my survey on the '88 29' Fever the surveyor said I should get an inner tie bar, just like the outside one(Latham Marine). I'm new to these boats. Is this common, if so where would I get one? Thanks

The outside bar you refer to is hydraulic steering. The inside tie bar connects both out drives....you should have both hydraulic external steering and the tie bar if you plan on going fast.

it s not going to hurt. but if the one outside from latham breaks it will act as a safety.
if your concernrd from a safety perspective , you can install a lower outside tiebar which mounts to the drives where the trim rams mount to drive.

make sure the ears where the inner mounts werent cut off from the factory, as this is normal routine for x tra clearance.

Back at you with a PM.

Can someone post a picture of how this mounts inside the engine compartment?

I think it hooks between the tiller arm and the steering actuator. Thanks.

I figured it out, all the pieces are there, I'll post a pic at too where it will hook up to, I just need another pin. The steering ram goes under and over the circled piece while the center is left clear (except for the pin) Thanks again everyone.
