Question 06 42 Exec w/ 600Sci's Prop Choice???? Help??

I just got a 2006 42 executioner with Mercury 600s, I bought 6-blade Herring's but they're horrible, I'm not sure of the size and pitch I gotta check the hub, but I was only getting 82 mph out of the boat and planing was horrible...put the stock bravo props on the XR drives and I hit 91 no problem...doesn't make sense to me...anyone out there have a similar set-up and some prop advice?!?!? please help?!?!

I have a 99 42 Lightning with 600 Innovations and currently running five blade 29 Hydromotives. Great out of the whole, only revs up to 2500rpm, dont have to get on it and no blow out, mid-range is solid and at just over 5000 rpm running high 80's. Haven't done WOT check on GPS.

Hope it helps and good luck;

Jay

When you find out the size and pitch on the Herrings...let me know I may be interested in buying them. You can PM me. FYI the 2nd Gen hull you are running is very different than that of Single With Twins 99 hull...it would be hard to draw an infernece from that. It might help if you figure your slip and go from there. That boat should probably be a honest mid 90's boat with the right setup and ideal conditions.

yes what rpm and what pitch props? i would venture to guess the herrings are 29's or maybe 31's buy the drop in rpm your describing.

try a set of 30 or 31 p 5 hydro's if your looking for speed . or go with a set of max's for the cruise plane and good top end
