Default 38 Lightning w/ 900,s ??

01 38' Lightning with 900's and Imco's .Need to know what it needs for props. I have 5 blade Herings (32) but it does not get on plane very good but has great cruise speed.I have run it up to 5200 rpms 102mph.I have tried 4 blade Bravos (33 labs) and gets on plane a little better 5700 rpms @102 mph. I just think there is somthing better to do. The Imcos are 2" shorties with 2'' spacers and 1:50 gears. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Try a set of PX5's or a set of cut down Maxims.

As suggested, my 35 likes the P5Xs with the Imco -2 shorties. I would imagine a labbed Maximus would also be good.

you should try a set of max's.32's without the spacers. or a set of 33 p5's.
for 900 h.p your speed is off. 00 38, 720, 1:50, -2 shorties,lab 32 4 bld merc, 6000 rpm = 104.

i bet you pick up big time with out the spacer's, and the max's will help planing issues .

you may even consider going to a 1:36 gear to up the prop speed, and will also broaden your prop selection.

with your power you should running at least 110/ 115.

Thanks for the info. Last year the ---- thing would not even get on plane with with the spacers off. It had around 800 hp then. We dyno these engines so I would know what I have. Anybody have 32 Max's ?
