Have to say Fountains are Cat killers (although I personally dilsike the looks of a Fountain and the Logo)...killed today several Argo and Twister cats that ran in 3C and B class at the Airisto offshore race (www.offshorerace.fi).
We had a start together in the open free for all class and almost lapped the last competitor who had some little problems because of the chop... have to mention the cat pilot in question is the world Champion in 3B as we speak...

But some of the gibberish you've typed here ... wow.

Skaters have no "real" (I'll spot you the "r") track record?" That isn't even worth responding to.

Cigarettes spin "like drunken fat women?" I'd say there are more than a few Cigarette owners who might disagree with you.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but I'll take a wild guess:
A boat that is safe on the race course will be safe for recreational use.

If that's your point ... not always. As we all know, a lot of race boats are set up for speed ... big gears, aggressive drive heights, delicate center of gravity, all stuff that can make them a handful to drive for anyone other than an experienced racer.

T2X has driven his share of race boats. My guess is that he'd agree, at least to some extent.

If I missed your point, my bad. That said, it's not exactly clear.

I cannot think of a person that has raced a Cigarette that has not been pitched into the water. The list is long and distinguished of those who have been tossed.... and the ones that say they havent are either lying or havent pushed the boat. Having said that, Cigarette needs to invest some $$ into R&D for a new bottom. The funny thing about Fountains is that when they do spin they stay flat..... Cigs just roll. I would rather slide than go over!!! Maybe Skip needs to take a ride with someone at race speed and turns, they should even let him steer!!! \

By the way, I am on my 4th Cig in 3 years..........

I think the #1 on the side of Cigarettes must stand for how many wins they have had in the last 25 years!

j/k

Top Gun is the right name for a Cigarette, and then we have the Aronows last creation, Apache 41.
I admit Iīm old school still despite the fact that I won an offshore race last weekend in a Fountain.
Itīs not the win itīs how you win IMO.
Iīve worked on the boat too already fixing it and itīs about a month old, me myself I reckon Fountains are massproduced boats and they look like it in their finish and detailing inside being equal to Wellcraft Scarabs.

Cigarettes do have a nicer finish not outside but inside where it counts for me.
Plus...Cig is a NAME.

Reggie can boast all he wants sometimes it works sometimes not as thereīs people round the world who knows the true king of offshore isnīt with us anymore.

They are all mass produced boats including the Cigarette they just don't make as many the demand just isn't there like the Fountains.

Fountain is also a NAME and a very well known name, especially on the racing circuits. Nothing wrong with Fountains rigging either. A nicer finish doesn't win races but to each his own.

Lastly Don was the King but that was 20 years ago...Times change and the winners get faster, stronger and better.

LMAO at post #124. Fountains have the speed and the look. You can always tell a Fountain from other boats that is the main reason I bought one. You cant beat the way they look in the water. Sure are a lot of Haters out there
