That sounds exactly like my boat. MONSTAA give us some more about the Maximus props, 30 1/2 x 15 1/4 Max's. What was the performance? Do they come in 1/2 pitch sizes or did I miss something?

There did seem like some room for RPM'S. You had to get the boat pretty light with trim to get it there. Didn't get squirrely just loose, but I normally run the tabs at about 2.5-3 and the trim at 3-4. I had to run the trim to about 5-6 to get it to 80.
5200RPM's is max R's for the 525....everything you are telling me is pretty much spot on with the numbers in comparison to what I expeirenced with our boat set up the exact same way. I found that our boat ran fastest with tabs a 1-2 and trim at 4.75-5.25...again, when we switched to the Hydro's the midrange improvment was HUGE....try running it with less than 50 gal of fuel and by yourself early in the morning when it is a little cooler and see what happens...bet you pick up 1-2mph.

Thanks, time to start shopping for props. Anyone got a spare set they want to part with?

My tabs are even with the bottom of the boat at 3.0. So I keep them there. I can just see the indicators bounce a little when I get to the water lowering them from 1. Antbody try to lab the B1 32's? Did that help? Anybody else try Maximus props? I dock with 4 - 382 Formulas and they all went out and got Maximus props and love them.

I almost did the labbing of 32 Bravo. But tested the P5Xs - better mid-range, and top. Didn't get a chance to test the Maximus. I would think they might have similar characteristics compared to the P5Xs.

Have a 2004 38 lightning staggered 525s, xr drives, 32 bravo props and can not get over 4700-4800 rpms. Any ideas on a prop recommend for max top end and hit rev limiter? Have been having trouble topping 80 lately. Seems to be running slower on top end. Destin Could only hit 75 with low gas, full water tank, and 6 people. Mechanic said boat may be over proped? Any Opinions. Have not been over 5000 rpms since I have owned the boat in febuary. About 395 hrs on boat.

the max is the all around best prop for the fountains. the manuver , handle , accelerate, cruise, and top out, respectively the best all around prop. the hydro's will be a lil faster , the p5. how ever keep in mind the clever v.s the round ear.. depending on gear case, gear case height, and speed , 5 will allways beat 4 in a consumer market. now qall you have to do is see what 5 .

VERY ODD!! I run with a guy who has the exact same boat....his is an 06 though. He is getting about 86-88 with 30" Hydro P5x's @ 5000rpm....his boat also came with 32" Bravos and factory test report read 90MPH in 88deg wheather @ 5300 RPM's. I do believe that the hulls on 04's are the same as 06....given this then your situation doesn't add up???
He has not had a chance to run his boat with new Hydros in cool weather...he feels that he can get to 90 again with the Hydro's when the temps cool down and with a thimble full of fuel....we'll see. Ill pace him
