Virtually every state prohibits wake jumping, either within 100 feet or "reasonable distance" of another vessel.

In the last year, we've had people killed in a head-on collision, one over-anxious throttle jockey run over the transom of another poker-runner, leaving prop gashes across the cockpit and more than a few "condolances" threads from other likely avoidable mishaps had the operators thought even slightly ahead about what they were doing.

Having said that, y'all go on ahead and do what you have to. You kill someone's kid, wife, husband or whatever, I hope it was worth it.

Cool Vid Jeff,
I've jumped waves with you before and never felt scared, thanks for sharing. You know how to drive a boat...
Now jumping waves with Jason, in his Bayliner... that's another story

I thought it looked great! I use to love jumping wakes when i had outboard boats. My dad had a 48 Ocean and he would drive it so it made the biggest wake it possible could and we would follow him for miles jumping his wake. We would aim for the second wave, the one right behind the white water and trim it to the moon. Those were the good old days! Can't do that anymore! These stupid cats just don't jump wakes at all! Useless crap!!

As for being too close.... How are you going to hit the second wave and get any kind of air if you are any further away!!!DUH!!
