It's like comparing Hydraulic electric bolsters to bolsters you have to pull a pin to release.
My Friend has a 25 baja.It is 800 lbs lighter than my 27 and 20 MPH slower and it also looks kinda plane and has only a few guages and it is not a fountain..
25 is much less than 27 . Simply one man's opinion.

The fountain will come with dual ram full to helm hydro steering and k-planes.....standard.....and that should be the only reason you get it. After having it you wont go back. Ive had both boats and the fever is much better to drive. And like i said b4....everybody has a baja....not too many people with small fountains.

Maybe your friend doesn't have a clue how to drive.

Well if you guys have the same power and he's 20mph slower, He must not know how to drive -probably why he "used to race"
If your comparing a blown 27 fountain versus a stock 496 25 Outlaw, then we've come full circle.
Your post was still ignorant.

Alot of good points have been made here on Quality, speed, price, etc.
One more point to be made may be Skill Level and experience.
The Fountain has a higher(or lower, I forget) X-dimension which requires more finese when getting on plane. In addition, it has a step hull. While both of these features excel performance, they also require more knowledge of proper trimming and safe operation. The Baja has neither of these features and it could be argued that it is easier and possibly safer for most boaters.
Lastly, what kind of boating do you want to do. I saw an OL25 last year that was rafted up and had about eight people on it. Later on I saw them take off and actually got on plane with all those people. If this is you, then the baja may be a better choice.
