What protection is there on a Mercury Speedmaster?
Take a close look at a #3, #4, #5 or even the #6 which is the only one with a Cav plate over the propeller and it is only 6" wide.
Likewise the cav plate on a Bravo is no wide either. So why is there a concern on an Arneson and not the others?

Negative pookie. There is just less metal around it....picture a #6 shaft only and there you have it. Like Rik said its only 4" more than a bravo. I wish the "hard turning" and "dangerous prop" myths would just be put to rest once and for all.
