Default Speed and Power of your 29

What power do you have in your 27 and 29's? I would be interested in doing like a whipple on my boat; however, I want to see what hp it takes to get a similar boat to "x" speed. Right now the best I can get out of my 29 with a rebuilt 500 EFI is 72 on GPS (approx 470HP)

You may need blower pistons. With My blower. I jump right on plane w a 28 pitch bravo.. I run mid seventies but need to tune some to get the right top end. Just been spending time in the boat with the lady and been on controlled speed lakes. Water skiin' and stuff. You can add 3 MPH for the 29 vrs. the 27.. And another 3 if you have the step bottom with the higher x dimention.

I may see 80 by the time i'm done. the best Ive seen is 77 gps w the wind and chop at my back on elsinore.I have a 27 with no step. But . I have a new tow vehicle.

I have a 2000 29' with carbed 500hp running right at 73mph gps with a 24" pitch bravo one. I have a labbed hydromotive that gets me up around 75, but I lose my all around performance. I also have an XR drive with 1.5 gears, and dual water pick-up. I have been told the DWP might be a little slower but not much. I used to have a 1999 27' with a Tyler Crockett 502 putting out 575hp. That boat ran close to 80mph at 5200 rpms with a 27 pitch mach sterndriver, and 1.5 gears.

You and I are pretty close as to how our 29's are running. I am having my 24P Hydromotive tuned right now so I can get some more RPM, then I think I will be close to 75ish.

'97 27 Fever - 509" w/ M1 Procharger and labbed 28 Bravo 1 - 77mph @ 5200. Been way hot down here this year and that's as tight as I can spin it. With some cooler weather and a bit more tuning I hope to touch 80
