We are not, I was told that the boats get on plane easier, but havent been in one with them to experience that myself. As far as the NXT gear case, the skeg design works in other applications, most other V's run them without problems. In the Fountain application, the gearcase provided too much stern lift, and the boat didnt have enough skeg in the water to give good control of the boat at high speeds. Thats not a problem with the 6 drive.

I had Shogren Performance Marine install the vent tubes on my boat and they did a great job. You have to match the vents to the profile of the prop so it takes a little work to get them right.
I have the stainless steel ones from Fountain with the logo on the top and they look much better than the rubber tubes. Give Shogren a call and they'll hook you up.

I like the ride of the 42 better, but the 38 is a lot faster. 115 out of the box, vs. 103. Stage 2 Whipple puts get you 125mph.
