In that I started this I can take some liberties here.

As this aproaches 7500 views it is somewhat obvious that people are interested. So what are the big Fountain players, such as Shogren, feeling about things these days?

Are you, in Reggie's absence, going to continue to support the efforts to continue the brand?

It goes without saying that you have been huge suporters in the past, done well with the product. So what do you see in the future?

Apparently I did.

I just don't see a volume driven dealership going all NorTec, great boats, likely very profitable, but not a real high volume deal. If you check their inventory it's still heavily Fountain. NorTech inventory shows five boats, two sold, an 80 footer which I doubt is in the building, leaving one fish boat and one perf boat. Can they be that profitable?

I mean no offense to the Shogren team, they are for sure a solid player in the game. I'm sure I am missing something here, just can't figure out what.

I see it a bit different.

Custom builders = higher margin.

People buying new boats in that range still have money, production boat buyers that need loans, hard to get.

Then the big one, did Liberty require them to "stock" a set number of boats. That may be hard to swallow in todays market,,,,,,,,, what happens tomorrow is anybodies guess.

Just my thoughts, Shogren is the only one that knows the real story.

And why should he change? They are proven and last time I checked they were number one in the industry. How many other performance boat manufatureres use Mercury? Hello?

He's number one in speed and handling and that's all he's got? Maybe you should tell Porsche or Ferrari they have the same problem.
Comical.

Please learn to not only read my comments, but try to comprehend them.

Fountains Cockpit is NOT state of the art, (cabin is average) have you ever looked at a outerlimits, nor tech, MTI? How many fountains have a I-PAD in the dash, DUH!

The only change and mondern looking fountain is the 42 poker run. The rest look very similiar to the older models. All the models have been behind the times in looks compared to the competion. In the 90's they still had a ugle square 80's black dash when Baja was updated with a modern looking white dash. Yes mercury is great, just one example how fountain does not try other options. (using mercury actually has more to do with the contract of fountain buying baja from brunswick requiring fountain to spend X amount of dollars on mercury products, still they should have explored more options like ilmor, surface drives, diesels, etc.)

Fountain does not compare to a Porsche or Ferrari. Obviously you have not been in either of their cars.

If fountain was so amazing the number one dealer would still carry them!

By the way shogren, good luck with your new adventures. Excited to see your business continue to grow.
